ABOUT

The Internet does not perform the same everywhere.

A connection can look fast on paper and still suffer from high latency, jitter or packet loss.

Real network performance depends on a combination of factors: geography, local infrastructure, provider, congestion and time of day. National averages hide these gaps.

KOLYORA builds a distributed infrastructure able to observe these conditions directly from multiple points across the territory, rather than estimating them from a single vantage point.

KOLYORA is a French technology project, built on a simple conviction: measure rigorously before interpreting.

TECHNOLOGY

A lean architecture.
Usable data.

Each probe runs its measurements locally before transmitting only the data the KOLYORA infrastructure actually needs.

Measure

The probe evaluates connection quality at regular intervals, under real conditions.

Validate

Each measurement is checked before being integrated, to filter out one-off anomalies.

Transmit

Validated results are securely transmitted to the KOLYORA infrastructure.

Analyse

Observations are then aggregated and made available for analysis.

The goal is to progressively build distributed coverage able to reveal performance gaps between territories.

Time required to receive a response from a remote endpoint.

Jitter

Variation in response time observed across successive measurements.

Packet loss

Share of sent packets that never reach their destination.

Availability

Ability of a service or connection to remain reachable over time.

PROJECT STATUS

We are still at the beginning.
That is a deliberate choice.

KOLYORA Nodes is currently in a technical and commercial validation phase. We prefer to build reliable infrastructure step by step rather than promise a network that does not exist yet.
